"Beautiful rosebud, bloom for me...oh can't you see..."

Beautiful is such a misused word. Boys use it so loosely to describe their girlfriends, teenage girls to describe the latest fashion, people to describe a painting. Oh, but it's so much more than that. Beautiful is when something is pure and good. Serene. Heartfelt. Meaningful. A rain storm, for example.

Such power surging from the sky and the Earth, forcing the trees to bow under their reign, animals finding comfort and refuge under such. Grass swaying as to give in to the trembling Earth-raging with power? Or shaking in fear? How the sky paints a beautiful landscape while the whole scene is informative of the human mind to who is truly superior on this planet. But all things seeming so natural and working in harmony- that's beauty.

A pure heart, soul. Someone who can rise from their own ashes, push themselves to be better people. Someone who, despite (or perhaps because of) what they've been through, they are an inspiration to others. That's a beautiful person.

Lyrics that are from the heart. That tell a story of hope, of life. Harmonies and chords and beats played with conviction. A message that stands strong. That's beautiful music.

So be so very careful when using the word beautiful, because it means a lot.

I Have Followers!

I have followers on my blog! Today I checked my dashboard and I have two followers on both Life Of A Cereal Killer and [enter creative blog title here] and one follower of The Coming Of Genius.

Sorry for being away for so long! I don't remember the last time I posted but it feels like a really long time to me. So, a quick update:

Well, school is fine. I don't like the Spanish teacher, which is weird for me because I'm usually the only kid who does.

Kaplan is so annoying. They give us pages and pages of homework not to mention I have to lug around their HUGE lesson book. Along with all the textbooks I'm bringing home and the notebooks for homework. *sigh* It'll all settle down after the test.

I started swimming again today. Wow. I didn't swim all last year and I am so out of shape. I was a light shade of purple when I got out of the pool. I almost collapsed, my legs were so tired. It was embarrassing. I'm sore all over.

So you see why I haven't been writing? Sorry for my rambling (again), but now that the update is done with more interesting things will come tomorrow. And I would like to welcome Fugi to my blog. He's my friend from school. That's it! See ya!

The Dark Knight

Over the summer I went to see The Dark Knight. I've been meaning to post about it, but I hadn't really thought about it. So, here goes.

Right off the back I have to say that Heath Ledger was amazing. There's rumor that he may be nominated for an Oscar and I really hope he is. The movie would be nowhere near as good without him. Christian Bale was good as Batman, but I hope you understand that it was hard to judge his acting when he was working along side Ledger. Everyone else seemed kind of bland, you know?
It was really sad what happened to Harvey Dent. Batman wanted to leave the city in his hands, he thought Harvey was a great guy. I was so sad that ___ ______ got to ___ before ______ could. Sorry, but I don't want to give anything away ;)

That was definitely a 5 star movie. Wait- do movies only go up to 4 stars? Even so, it was still a five star movie, lol :D I suggest you all see it because it's a great movie and it's easy to follow. Three Cheers for Heath Ledger!

"...we are all a bunch of animals who never paid attention in school!..."

School again. I saw Fugi, he's in my class. He got a really awesome haircut and he looks really good [all the purple grew out of his hair from last year, lol ;)]. Sarah and Casey (my two other friends) are in the other homeroom, but we- Fugi included- are all in the "red group" which means we have almost all our classes together. It's really great having all my friends in the same group as me, last year we were all split up :(

We also have a lot of new teachers which means we have to learn how to please them the hard way, but so far they all seem pretty nice. I actually really miss Ms. Lowenstein even though I really disliked her last year. She's really nice when she's not teaching and I think I'm gonna have lunch with her on Monday....

So Thursday was our first full day of school. I'm so excited to be back at our old lunch table we used to have a couple years ago. It's weird how I change so much over time but in the end it's your old friends who are the best. David and Julian sat with us and I realized I have more friends than I thought I did; we haven't sat together in so long I almost forgot about them! It's nice to finally find my place. It's good to be back.

After school I went to my test prep class for the SHSAT and I was so late. I got out of school late and then the bus was so slow. On top of that, I absent mindedly got of on the wrong stop (7 blocks away) and then in doing so I got all turned around and when I finally got there, I spent another five minutes trying to find the class. I was SO very late.

Today was nice. Another half day. It's nice being back on schedule, doing work, doodling, sitting and observing people. In science the other day Mrs. Ramos us who didn't like to work in groups and my hand shot up. When she called on me it was really hard to explain why so I just ended up saying "I don't like people." Everyone laughed, but it's true! That story was actually pointless but I just thought it was funny :D

So here's a little update and sorry for another long post:

Books I'm reading: Beachglass by Wendy Blackburn, Breaking Dawn by Stephenie Meyer
Music I've been listening to: Hey There Delilah by Plain White T's, Pretty. Odd. album by Panic At The Disco
Movies I've seen: The Dark Knight (review coming soon)
Things I'm looking forward to: Apple picking, fall, Halloween, homemade pies, Twilight the movie

"...I've got so much left to say..."

...if every simple [post] I wrote [for] you would take your breath away, I'd write it all...

Hi everybody! I know I haven't started school yet but I decided one more post wouldn't hurt! I had a great Labor Day weekend. On Saturday, Casey and I went to Southstreet Seaport and had dinner and shopped. I got another bamboo plant because the one I had for about 7 years died :( So anyway, we went to this seafood place and I had the best lobster ravioli ever! lol sorry but it was really good :P After we ate we stood in a circle with a bunch of people and watched this guy play the electric violin. He was amazing! It was so much fun to watch him perform because he had the perfect form of a violinist (I took violin in 5th grade) and the amazing energy of a rock artist. He looked like Frank Iero with a violin! If you can imagine that.... o.0

lol so then Sunday I went to church and- even though I only got to go for sacrament due to slipping into unconsiousness right after I turned off my alarm >.<- I had fun because I got to see Casey's family again since they just got back from Utah (Casey came home alone for our church's girl's camp). I forgot how much I missed her little brothers! They're so cute and they grew up so much, especially Jeremy! (sorry for sounding like a teary-eyed mother)

Alright, so today I got up at 7:30am in attempt to get back on a sleeping schedule (and in the wake of discovering the alarm option on my iPod). My mom and I went out for brunch and then we went to Barns and Noble. We just got back and I can't wait to get my hair cut! I'm deciding on a really short hair style.

Eeek! Tomorrow I start my Kaplan prep course for the SHSAT! Then Wednesday is my first day of school. I hope I like my new teacher. Unfortunately he's new to the school so I don't know anything about him :( Ah well. I can't wait to see Sarah and Fugi again. I miss them!

Sorry for my rambling. I know I probably bored you all to death if you've even gotten to this point. I'll post back tomorrow (most likely).
