*Sniff, Sniff*

Tear. I didn't see him today! Oh, um, I should probably inform you who "he" is. Well, everyday, at around 8:55, this really cute guy always walks up the block in the opposite direction as me as I head to school. He has light-brown hair, blue eyes and braces and he's pretty tall. Or just pretty without the"tall". Either way :) Too bad he's older than me (and gay, I think). So anyway, no matter how sucky my morning has been, he always cheers me up. Also, since he's walking in the opposite direction as me, I get a good, long look at his face before he passes me! :p

But I didn't see him today. :(

**************************

On a lighter note, I was reading a book called Birdland the other day and in it this kid's teacher read a book to the class. The author was saying how you should memorize things/people you see/hear/smell everyday. That way, " if anyone ever says to you, 'What will you always remember about this place?' you will know just exactly which story it is that you would tell them." So, here is my list.

  • The sound of a car alarm

  • The sound of a fire truck

  • The sound of the kid riding his skateboard outside my window when I get home from school

  • The tall, black-haired lady (who kinda looks like a biker) and her little girl who is always on the bus on my way to school

  • The funny dad and his two girls on the bus

  • The cute gay guy who I see when I walk down the block to my school

  • The old man and his french bulldog I see in the park

  • The guy who owns Bacon, the Frenchie, and how Bacon is in love with my dog

  • Fig, the dog, and her owner and how I loved to try and get the ball from her so I could throw it

  • At night, the dog who has abandonment issues and howls like torture victim when he's tied up while his owner shops in the grocery store downstairs

  • The way the streets glisten at night under the street lights

  • The owner of Crepes on Columbus

  • The really nice, funny waiter at Crepes on Columbus

  • The guy who works at Giovanni's pizza shop up the block

  • The two girls who eat at Zanny's every morning

  • Their teacher Mr.______ who comes in to buy a bagel after the girls get there and the taller of the girls always sucks up to him

  • Richie and his sister who live in my mom's building and I've known since I was little

  • The anonymous black girl who lives in my dad's building and always says hi to me

  • Our neighbor, Maddy, and her boyfriend (dad's house)

  • The rats that live on my dad's block

  • The Indian lady and her son I see every morning

  • Our neighbors Tom, his boyfriend and their cute dog (mom's house)

  • The Asian couple that live across from us with their Yorkie and purple-eared poodle

  • The sound of a piano coming from the apartment next to my mom's apt. (I think it's Tom playing)

  • The smell of incense in the hallway at my mom's apartment

  • The sound of Maddy and her boyfriend talking (the walls in my dad's building are thin)

I know that's a lot of things to remember, but I've lived in this neighborhood all my life! So, enjoy my treacherously long list of things that have no significant meaning to you.
